Tested and Certified for Banned Substances
The second, very important fact about Xendurance is that it is “Tested For Banned Substances” by the world’s largest and most experienced sports test laboratory in the world and has received certification by both INFORMED CHOICE & INFORMED-SPORT.
Lifespan International US, works with HFL Sport Science, the world’s largest and most experienced sports test laboratory. The HFL laboratory is ISO Certified and accredited for forensic testing and meets or exceeds world anti-doping agency standards and requirements. Tests performed on Lifespan’s product, Xendurance, use state-of-the-art gas chromatography, liquid chromatography, and mass spectrometric detection. Biomarkers are added to the test samples to ensure the procedures are performing correctly. These test results can detect substances down to ten parts per billion for steroids and 100 parts per billion for stimulants. These ongoing tests are very expensive, but with high profile endurance athletes and doping a concern for everyone, we wanted to do more than others to make certain we supply the best drug-free sports supplements to our endurance athletes.
Tested endurance supplements, and batch samples are catalogued and retained for the product shelf life. If an athlete who has been taking Xendurance tests positive for tests conducted in accordance with the World Anti-Doping Agency code, these sealed batch samples will be made available for a third party, independent test, to prove the positive test was NOT due to our Xendurance supplement, based on the World Anti-Doping substance list and listed detection levels.

HFL Sport Science Ltd is a world-renowned sports doping control and research laboratory, with over 47 years of expertise in anti-doping in sport. HFL has published over 300 scientific papers on methods for detection of trace levels of substances that are prohibited in sport and has over 450 man-years of research into doping control.
HFL’s testing capability for supplements/ingredients includes the analysis of over 200 substances that are considered prohibited in sport and substances that pose a threat in respect of product contamination. These substances include anabolic agents, stimulants, beta-2-agonists, recreational drugs, masking agents, etc.
Testing methods used for a range of substances from these categories have been validated and accredited to the ISO 17025 standard in supplements/ingredients, in each of the relevant matrices: powders, bars, liquids, capsules, tablets, etc., with defined method capabilities/reporting limits. HFL has held this accreditation since 2003, granted by UKAS (the United Kingdom Accreditation Service).
Other prohibited substances tested for are not explicitly covered within the ISO 17025 accreditation schedule for supplements/ingredients; however, similar analytical methods and quality control procedures are employed to those used for the analysis of the accredited compounds.
As a doping control laboratory, HFL works directly with sports authorities — National Anti Doping Organizations and National Governing Bodies worldwide. Providing advice and expert support, HFL is able to represent the views of partners and assist in the shaping of future regulation.
What is INFORMED-CHOICE & INFORMED SPORT?
INFORMED-CHOICE & INFORMED SPORT (EU Certification) is a supplement testing and certification program which ensures athletes that products carrying this mark have been regularly tested for prohibited substances in sport and manufactured to strict GMP standards. Responsible supplement companies, such as Lifespan International US, have made INFORMED-CHOICE & INFORMED SPORT part of their existing quality assurance systems to ensure their products are safer for athletes to use.
Research has shown that some supplement products have been found to be contaminated with low levels of steroids and stimulants that are prohibited by WADA (the World Anti-Doping Agency) and other sporting bodies. The INFORMED-CHOICE & INFORMED SPORT program aims to work closely with supplement manufacturers and suppliers by providing high quality analytical testing to minimize the incidence of banned contaminants finding their way into sport.
The INFORMED-CHOICE & INFORMED SPORT certification program was established in 2007 by one of the worlds leading doping control laboratories, HFL Sport Science. Although HFL has been testing supplements since 2002, it became clear that there was a need for a comprehensive certification program which not only tested products for banned substances, but were manufactured in qualified facilities meeting FDA GMP standards.
This certification is a voluntary program for supplement companies who wish to register some or all of their products and carry INFORMED-CHOICE & INFORMED SPORT seal on those products. Athletes who see the INFORMED-CHOICE & INFORMED SPORT logo on a product can be assured it has undergone a rigorous screening program for banned substances in sport and safer to use.
Lifespan International was one of the first companies to use HFL Sport Science’s new certification programs; INFORMED CHOICE & INFORMED SPORT.
